IMPORTANT CURRENT ISSUE

No 35th Street Bridge!Bridge Across Raccoon River

As of August 16, 2006 the WDM Plan & Zoning Commission has voted to designate South 35th Street as a minor collector (typically with 2 lanes and 70 feet of right-of-way) and remove bridges crossing the Raccoon River at South 35th Street and South 50th Street. The Plan & Zoning Commission is reviewing the remainder of the comprehensive plan and will be recommending it to the City Council for final approval some time this fall. When the plan goes before City Council, we will need to make a large showing to reinforce to the City Council that we do not want the Plan & Zoning Commission's recommendations overturned. Please watch this site for details about important City Council meetings this fall.

Attend the next Planning & Zoning Meeting which takes place every other Wednesday at 6pm in the WDM City Hall on Mills Civic Parkway. Visit the P&Z web site for meeting dates and times.
